The Unibrow is excitd to announce Against a Bright Blue Sky, a group exhibition and issue launch at Tlaloc Studios in Los Angeles, opening the evening of Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 6-10pm. The exhibition co-curated by artist Ozzie Juarez and The Unibrow editor, Evan Pricco.
This show was born from Ozzie and I’s conversations in Tokyo when we were opening The Unibrow Show, about the year Los Angeles was having and the art world’s struggles and just the turmoil sort of swirling at all times around us. LA is my adopted home, and Ozzie’s hometown, and I have learned a lot about this place and the people making work here through him. I’m from Oakland but always think California first, what it means as a place, a frontier, the end of the and edge of the world, pushed up against a bright, blue sky.
Against a Bright, Blue Sky can be read in two different ways: something beautiful and expansive and the other a push to the edge of the world. Tlaloc Studios and The Unibrow magazine are bringing together a group of artists, a community of Los Angeles for a group show that celebrates friendship, resistance, revival, culture, past, present and future. The show is about both celebratory and protest.
We asked each artist for a small work that was a both a reflection of the title and the city it was made in. It is also connected to The Unibrow, not just a Los Angeles magazine but a publication creating stories and a voice of record for the artists defining the times we live (and lived) in.
There will be copies of The Unibrow Issue 01 for sale at the opening. Tlaloc is located at 447 e 32nd Street, Los Angeles, California 90011
Ozzie Juarez and The Unibrow would like to thank Nike, Open Beer, Perrier, Tropa, El Moro and everyone at Tlaloc for this special showing. The show will be on view November 22—December 14, 2025.
