Editorial Standards
The Unibrow is an independent arts and culture publication. Our reporting, criticism, and features are produced by the editorial team and named contributors listed above. We hold ourselves to the following principles:
- Independence
- Editorial decisions are made by the Editor in Chief and our editorial team. Advertisers and sponsors do not influence editorial content. We work in partnership with other independent curators and arts organizations when applicable. Although rare, sponsored content is clearly labelled when published.
- Accuracy & Corrections
- We strive for accuracy in every story. Most of what we write is based on opinion and the good feeling of looking at art in person. When we identify errors, we correct them promptly and transparently; affected articles carry a clear correction note. We apologize in advance for any misspelling or misidentified caption. Report errors to brow@the-unibrow.com.
- Sourcing
- Our reporting draws on first-hand interviews, gallery and museum visits, and primary documents wherever possible. We gather our imagery direct from artists and galleries, and we provide credit as far as we are notified to do so. Quotes are attributed, and paraphrases are clearly distinguished from direct speech. If you feel like we have misidentified an image or used a work improperly, please let us know at brow@the-unibrow.com.
- Conflicts of Interest
- Contributors disclose material relationships with subjects of coverage — including representation, financial interest, or close personal ties — and are reassigned when those relationships compromise independence. Sometimes liking the art means we like the artists, so occasionally a friend of The Unibrow will be covered.
- Diversity & Voice
- We publish artists, critics, and writers across geographies, generations, and disciplines. Our coverage is shaped by the breadth of contemporary and historic art, not by a single market or scene. We are both historic and current.
Ownership & Funding
The Unibrow is published by The Unibrow Culture, LLC, an independent media company headquartered in Oakland, California, founded in 2025 by Evan Pricco and Nisan Perera.
Revenue comes from print and digital subscriptions, single-issue newsstand sales, advertising, and live events. The Unibrow does not accept funding from sources whose interests would conflict with editorial independence.
