We wanted to make our NYC debut a little extra special. So we got some help from our friends. On Thursday, March 26, The Unibrow and OR Books teamed up for a special night to celebrate a few releases in both our respective and collaborative universes: In celebration of The Unibrow Issue 02 and OR Books release of Duchamp Takes New York, both publishers hosted an invite-only launch event at the Francis Kite Club.

With MoMA opening a massive Duchamp retrospective in the spring, The Unibrow and OR Books were both looking at the massive impact of the groundbreaking artist. Writer and critic, Carlo McCormick presented his world-renowned Dadaism slideshow, focusing on Duchamp's time in New York, and author John Strausbaugh read from his new book published by OR.

Not only was the night a chance for us to each celebrate our respective releases, but a chance for us to bring together our long standing and enduring community for a night of art history on the Lower East Side. We were welcomed by so many of our friends who have contributed to the birth of The Unibrow, but also the spirit of community and collaboration in the publishing world. It was an enduring spirit that keeps us going.

The night also featured a special drink, Duchamp’s Brow, created by Francis Kite Club’s Sean B Goldring. All photography was captured by Simone Niamani Thompson.

The Unibrow Issue 02 will be available worldwide in the coming weeks. It is now available at Casa and Iconic Magazines in New York.
