Where to Brows… with Jon Gray

Jon Gray is one of the co-founders of Ghetto Gastro, alongside chefs Pierre Serrao and Lester Walker, an unparalleled culinary collective out of The Bronx. Tired of going out and watching restaurants use Black culture as window dressing, Gray brought his community of chef friends together to tell stories about the culture using food as both medium and message. “We always create from a point of making something that doesn’t exist, exist. And we do our best to create it.” GG began as a house party in 2012, and over the past 14 years has expanded to events with the Recording Academy and Paris’s Place Vendome while somehow never outgrowing the streets they started from.
