“A lot of people had a lot more fun in the 1990s than we did.” This was one of the first things Jessica and Andrew told me when I sat down to talk with them about the 30 years they’ve run Fredericks & Freiser. Opened in 1996, the husband and wife were grinding it out as one of the first five galleries to sign a lease in Chelsea. They lived in the storefront and slept on a bed that rolled out from below their inventory.
